Transport Officer - Import Export Logistics

About the role

The Transport Officer coordinates and manages day-to-day transport and logistics operations in Beira, Mozambique, ensuring the efficient movement of cargo across import and export channels. The role covers transport planning, freight forwarding, cargo tracking, stakeholder coordination and operational reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily import and export transport, allocate trucks and liaise with transporters, shipping lines and customers
• Manage freight forwarding and import/export documentation, and track shipments
• Liaise with customs agents, port authorities and shipping lines to clear cargo
• Coordinate loading and offloading, vessel operations, container shunting and genset needs for temperature-controlled cargo
• Maintain operational records, prepare reports, verify invoices and reconcile transport costs
• Support customers, build relationships with suppliers and transporters, and support operational audits and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Port Management, Business Administration or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in transport operations, logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain management
• Experience coordinating import and export logistics; experience with transport management systems is an advantage
• Good command of English

• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office
• Negotiation, stakeholder management and communication skills
