Quarry & Raw Material QC Inspector (Project-Based)

About the role

This project‑based position ensures that all extracted and processed aggregates and quarry materials meet strict project specifications and international standards. The inspector will work on‑site in Pemba, overseeing extraction, production, testing and documentation for the duration of the contract.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect blast sites before and after operations, evaluate rock fragmentation and calculate muck pile volumes.
• Track stockpiles to avoid mixing, cross‑contamination and degradation, and monitor extraction faces for low‑quality zones.
• Monitor crushing and screening plants, perform visual and physical inspections of the aggregate stream, and record production quantities.
• Review laboratory test reports (gradation, flakiness, abrasion, soundness, Los Angeles) and apply project acceptance criteria.
• Execute inspection steps and hold points defined in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), maintain quality registers, non‑conformance logs and daily reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or technical certification in Civil Engineering, Geology or Construction Materials Testing.
• Proven experience in open‑pit mining, aggregate processing plants or civil infrastructure quality control.
• Deep knowledge of technical specifications, compliance matrices and project blueprints.
• Strong familiarity with ASTM testing methodologies for civil construction materials.
• Robust mathematical skills for material volume calculations and data‑driven logging.
• Fluent written and spoken English for technical documentation.

• ASTM testing methodologies (e.g., ASTM C33, ASTM D692/D1073).
• Laboratory testing interpretation (gradation, flakiness, abrasion, soundness, Los Angeles).
• Material volume calculations.
• Quality documentation and ITP enforcement.
• Stockpile tracking and traceability management.

What we offer

• Project‑based contract with a gross annual salary of €40,000‑€45,000.
