Senior Accountant (m/f) – Automotive Sector

About the role

The senior accountant will report to the Finance Manager and oversee accounting, financial and administrative activities for a prestigious automotive company. The role ensures reliable financial information, compliance with legal and tax obligations, and supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review and reconcile daily financial transactions, manage accounts payable and receivable for a network of shops.
• Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, IRPC, IRPS, INSS) and monitor invoicing, withholding tax and tax records.
• Manage assets, depreciation, stock‑takes and reconcile revenue from provincial shops with central accounts.
• Oversee cash flow, liquidity, bank accounts and financial inflows/outflows.
• Prepare, implement and evaluate the annual budget and monthly forecasts; monitor operating costs such as fuel, fleet maintenance, wages and spare parts.
• Prepare financial reports and performance indicators for management.
• Supervise, guide and train administrative and accounting assistants.
• Represent the company with tax authorities, INSS, banks and strategic suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of senior financial, accounting or administrative management experience.
• Deep, up‑to‑date knowledge of Mozambican tax legislation, statutory compliance and local labour law.
• Advanced analytical abilities, strong attention to detail and results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication, leadership skills and high professional ethics.
• Fluent English; Mozambican nationality required.
