Senior Community Investment Advisor

About the role

This senior, full‑time contract position is based in Maputo, Mozambique, supporting a leading oil and gas super‑major. You will lead the design and execution of community investment strategies that drive long‑term socioeconomic development and align with corporate sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategic frameworks for annual and multi‑year community investment plans.
• Engage senior stakeholders, including private‑sector partners and EPC contractors, to co‑create investment priorities.
• Provide executive oversight of project implementation, ensuring safety, compliance and adherence to budgets and timelines.
• Approve project scopes, manage escalations and drive strategic adjustments.
• Implement standardized processes and digital tools for performance tracking.
• Oversee vendor and partner performance, ensuring contractual compliance.
• Review contractor community investment proposals and monitor their programs.
• Define and monitor KPIs, design corrective actions, and establish governance for risk, corruption prevention and human‑rights considerations.
• Represent the company in high‑level forums and policy dialogues.
• Prepare executive‑level reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Mentor junior advisors and project teams.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with large‑scale oil and gas projects and community investment programmes.
• Deep knowledge of Mozambique’s socioeconomic landscape and regulatory environment.
• Proven ability to shape strategy, influence policy and manage multi‑cultural stakeholder relationships.
