Senior HR Manager (Maputo, Mozambique)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior HR Manager to own the complete HR function for a privately owned IT and technology services firm in Maputo. You will work directly with senior leadership, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and a positive employee experience across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to exits.
• Oversee HR operations and administration, including payroll inputs and HR reporting.
• Lead employee‑relations matters such as disciplinaries, grievances and investigations.
• Ensure strict compliance with Mozambican labour law.
• Advise leadership on HR risk, best practices and people strategy.
• Drive local recruitment, performance management and people development initiatives.
• Act as a trusted partner to senior management on all people‑related issues.

Required profile

• 6–8+ years of HR experience, preferably in a lead or standalone role.
• Currently based in Maputo, Mozambique (non‑negotiable).
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Strong, practical knowledge of Mozambican labour legislation.
• Proven experience handling employee‑relations and disciplinary processes.
• Comfortable operating both strategically and operationally.
• Independent, pragmatic and able to make sound judgement calls.
