Senior Structural Engineer – Field Engineering

About the role

The Senior Structural Engineer (Senior Field Engineer) will lead the field engineering discipline for the Mozambique LNG Project, ensuring that design, construction and documentation meet McDermott standards as well as JV partner requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support construction by guaranteeing that materials and drawings are delivered to site according to the construction schedule.
• Perform site design changes during construction, producing redline mark‑ups on as‑built drawings.
• Provide technical support to QA/QC groups for non‑conformance issues and dispositions.
• Assist the construction project team in interpreting drawings, specifications and related documents.
• Coordinate closely with the home‑office engineering team to resolve problems that cannot be solved on site.
• Validate and coordinate discipline‑specific field design changes.
• Maintain the “MASTER COPY” of engineering documentation at the contractor’s site office, ensuring it is up‑to‑date and free of voided or superseded items.
• Review IFC modifications with the home office and manage formal transmission to subcontractors.

Required profile

• Lead engineer with extensive field engineering experience, particularly in structural and civil disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and LNG project environments.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and work with JV partners.
• Experience in engineering document control and revision management.
• Ability to produce and review redline drawings and technical documentation.
