Team Leader – Gender Equality & GBV Programme

About the role
Jhpiego Mozambique is looking for an experienced Team Leader to steer a consultancy assignment focused on gender equality, gender‑based violence (GBV), social protection, and community development. The role provides strategic leadership, technical oversight, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams to achieve high‑quality project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight for the assignment.
- Coordinate and supervise multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
- Lead planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of project activities.
- Oversee programme design and implementation related to gender equality, GBV prevention and response, women’s and girls’ empowerment, social protection, and community development.
- Manage stakeholder engagement with government institutions, development partners, donors, civil society, and community representatives.
- Provide technical guidance on strategic planning, budgeting, and programme implementation.
- Supervise capacity‑building initiatives and ensure quality assurance across all activities.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare and present high‑quality technical reports, strategic documents, and recommendations.
- Facilitate consultations, workshops, and meetings at national and sub‑national levels.
Required profile
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in gender, GBV, social protection, or social development programmes.
- Proven experience leading and implementing programmes that empower women and girls and promote community development.
- Experience with evaluations, programme planning, implementation, and M&E in Mozambique.
- Experience managing complex consultancy assignments with budgets over USD 1 million.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working directly with the Government of Mozambique, the World Bank, the United Nations, or other international agencies.
