Transport Officer

About the role

Heading Moçambique is recruiting a Transport Officer to be based in Maputo, Mozambique. The role covers the administration and coordination of the company's vehicle fleet, including mobilization, maintenance, leased and owned vehicles, and driver services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the vehicle fleet database, keeping accurate records of allocation, documentation, inspections, maintenance and status.
• Coordinate vehicle mobilization and demobilization, registration, inspections, maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Administer leased, rented and company-owned vehicles, including contract follow-up, availability, damage assessment and insurance claims.
• Coordinate IVMS equipment and fuel-card administration, including installation, maintenance, allocation, inventory and records.
• Support the administration of professional driver services, including shift coverage, timesheets, overtime and operational transport needs.
• Monitor fleet and transport costs, verify supporting documents and invoices, and prepare KPIs and performance reports.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, leasing companies, workshops, insurers, IVMS providers and authorities.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or equivalent in Logistics, Transport, Fleet Management, Business Administration or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Relevant experience in transport, fleet administration or logistics.
• Practical knowledge of vehicle administration, maintenance follow-up, HSE and transport compliance.
• Fluent Portuguese and good working knowledge of English, with a valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in Oil & Gas or major project environments is an advantage.
