About the role
The Visa & Work Permit Coordinator reports to the Immigration Supervisor and the MZ HR Services Manager and provides immigration advice and administrative support for foreign nationals in Mozambique and worldwide. The role ensures smooth processing of work permits, visas, mobilization, on‑site support and repatriation for employees, dependents and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities
- Provide immigration advice and administrative support for work permits, DIRE, work and business visas, and coordinate arrivals at Maputo and Pemba International Airports.
- Assist TEPMA1 employees and their dependents with visa‑on‑arrival, residence visas and coordinate applications with the Directorate of Immigration and relevant embassies.
- Identify immigration trends, propose solutions and drive process improvements in collaboration with government ministries.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice to legalise documentation.
- Support subcontractors in project‑specific work permit and visa applications.
- Handle administrative duties such as processing payments, invoices, generating reports and maintaining legal documentation.
- Prepare visas for Mozambican staff traveling overseas and accompany them to consular appointments.
- Maintain accurate databases, ensure data security and comply with HSE training requirements.
Required profile
- Minimum high school diploma; degree in law, international relations or similar preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional experience as an immigration consultant or related role.
- Strong knowledge of labour and immigration laws.
- Ability to work across multiple HR functions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple visa and work‑permit cases simultaneously.
- Strong research, fact‑checking and writing abilities.
- Commitment to confidentiality and strict observance of deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficient use of MS Office.
- Experience with E‑Visa platforms.
- Familiarity with the SIMIGRA system.
