Consultancy for Development of National Action Plan for Nutrition in the Health Sector

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to support the Ministry of Health of Mozambique in developing a comprehensive National Action Plan for Nutrition within the health sector. The consultancy will guide planning and implementation of evidence‑based nutrition actions across the life cycle, aligning with national strategies and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an inception report and define the working methodology.
• Compile evidence, evaluate the existing nutrition programme, analyse documents, conduct consultations and assess the country’s nutritional situation.
• Develop strategic lines of nutrition throughout the life cycle.
• Draft a costed action plan with clear targets and indicators.
• Facilitate validation and produce the final action plan.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of the UNICEF Nutrition Specialist and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
• Experience in coordinating with technical groups on nutrition and maternal‑child health.
