HR Coordinator – Project-Based (Pemba, Mozambique)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to support an international engineering, construction and energy company on a project‑based assignment in Pemba, Mozambique. The role focuses on supervising HR advisors, ensuring compliance, and managing workforce administration throughout all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and assist HR Advisors to guarantee adherence to company procedures, legal requirements and HR best practices.
• Collaborate with Planning, Cost Control, Site Management and Foremen to meet staffing needs across project stages.
• Monitor workforce costs, prepare monthly variance reports and define salary grading aligned with project budgets.
• Handle personnel issues, contract renewals, terminations, replacements and workforce reallocations in coordination with site management.
• Evaluate contractual or salary adjustment requests and report workforce status, organisational developments and contractual risks to the HR Manager/Director.
• Support organisational and cultural change initiatives, including restructures, and maintain accurate HR documentation, records and organisational charts.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in HR coordination within modern, international organisations, preferably in construction or EPC environments.
• Proven track record in personnel management, workforce administration and HR operations in complex project settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and mediation abilities with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
• Good knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Fluent or good command of English, both written and spoken.
