Algerian Nursing Team Lead – Mozambique

About the role

International SOS is seeking experienced Algerian nurses to join a rotational team in Mozambique. This senior nursing leadership position will guide a multidisciplinary team while ensuring high‑quality patient care in a remote, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and coordinate the site nursing team to deliver safe, compassionate care in line with International SOS medical standards.
• Develop and manage nursing workforce plans, including shift scheduling, handovers and duty allocation.
• Drive continuous improvement through competency programmes, coaching, training initiatives and clinical audits.
• Maintain rigorous documentation, patient safety protocols, infection‑control measures and confidentiality standards.
• Provide critical support during emergencies, including resuscitation, disaster response and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC).
• Oversee nursing inventory, monitor stock levels, ensure equipment functionality and report shortages.
• Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes professional development and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams (medical, operational, logistics) to ensure integrated healthcare delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑registration nursing experience with at least 2 years in senior nursing roles (e.g., charge nurse, team leader).
• Proven leadership, accountability, professional integrity and sound clinical judgement.
• Ability to manage resources, set priorities and operate effectively in remote, austere settings.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and team‑building skills.
• Experience in risk identification, emergency response and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and performance‑management capabilities.
