C4D / SBCC Expert (Mozambique) – Up to 3‑year consultancy

About the role

Magenta FZE is assembling a consortium in Mozambique to deliver communication for development (C4D) and social and behavior change communication (SBCC) services that support an inclusive transition to a climate‑resilient, low‑carbon economy. The consultancy will last up to three years and will be led by local experts who ensure contextual relevance, operational continuity and sustainable capacity building.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the design and implementation of C4D and SBCC interventions across target communities.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer to local partners and stakeholders.
• Ensure all activities are conflict‑sensitive and aligned with Mozambican public institutions, municipalities and civil‑society organisations.
• Maintain cost‑efficiency and monitor the quality of deliverables.
• Provide regular reports and recommendations to the consortium.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in communication, C4D or SBCC.
• Demonstrated experience working with Mozambican public institutions, municipalities or civil‑society organisations.
• Strong mediation abilities and experience in conflict‑sensitive community engagement.
• Fluency in Portuguese and relevant local languages.

Required skills

• Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Portuguese, Makhuwa, Sena).
• Mediation and conflict‑sensitive facilitation.
• Hands‑on experience with community‑based communication programmes.
