Camp Boss – Lead Camp Operations in Remote Site

About the role

Newrest is seeking a Camp Boss to manage daily camp operations in a remote mining/oil & gas environment in northern Mozambique. You will ensure high‑quality accommodation, catering and housekeeping services while prioritising safety and staff wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage camp operations within budget and comply with finance, HR, admin, quality and HSE policies.
• Maintain contract compliance and strong client relationships.
• Submit end‑of‑month reports on time and communicate any operational delays.
• Regularly meet on‑site client representatives and implement client policies, exceeding expectations where possible.
• Monitor purchases, logistics and communicate issues to the purchasing department.
• Ensure staff performance, welfare and security, identifying training programmes to meet standards.
• Identify operational improvements to boost customer satisfaction.
• Participate in new initiatives, cooperate with auditors and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Hospitality, Administration or related field.
• 4–5 years experience in camp management for mining/oil & gas projects.
• Experience in catering companies and remote sites.
• Fluency in English and/or Portuguese.
• Ability to work under high pressure, strong organisational sense and respect for local constraints.
• Strong leadership, team management and multitasking abilities.
