Deputy Country Director – Programs (M/F) – Pemba

About the role

Solidarités International seeks a Deputy Country Director for Programs to lead strategic programming and ensure quality, accountability and coherence of humanitarian interventions in Pemba, Mozambique. The role supports the Country Director in delivering evidence‑based, conflict‑sensitive programmes in a complex security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Country Director to implement the country and programme strategy.
• Support fundraising, donor relations and representation of SI.
• Lead programme development, coordinate with the programme team and communicate issues to HQ.
• Ensure quality criteria and indicators are monitored and inform decision‑making.
• Update procedures, guides and tools in line with HQ recommendations.
• Prepare the 2024 proposal cycle, review 2023 projects, and integrate lessons learned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in humanitarian action, development, international law or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.

What we offer

• Gross salary starting at €3,300 per month (including a 10 % leave allowance).
• Monthly per‑diem of USD 750 and break allowance of USD 850.

• Regular breaks: 7 working days off every three months plus one additional rest day per month.
