Resettlement Data and Compensation Supervisor

About the role

The Resettlement Data and Compensation Supervisor will report to the Land Access Programs Manager and the VP of Social Performance. Based in Afungi, Mozambique, the role leads the data and compensation team responsible for implementing key components of the resettlement programme.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the resettlement‑related data and compensation team and manage implementation partners for land and asset surveys, compensation agreements, payments, grievance resolution and in‑kind compensation.
• Supervise GIS and survey databases, ensuring quality control, proper storage, backup and integration into the project data management system.
• Develop procedures, documents and agreements for compensation entitlement and oversee their implementation.
• Coordinate field logistics with security, HSE and transport teams, and ensure compliance with resettlement plans, government regulations and project policies.
• Prepare statements of work for contracting partners, monitor their performance and report progress through regular reports.

Required profile

• University degree in Geography, Economics, Rural Development, Sociology, Social Sciences or Environmental Management.
• At least five years of experience in social geospatial data management and analysis.
• Minimum five years engaging communities in resettlement activities, focusing on compensation programmes.
• Proven experience managing implementation partners, including technical and financial monitoring.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
