Deputy Security Manager – Airspace

About the role

The Deputy Security Manager – Airspace will lead and manage all airspace security activities for an international industrial project operating in a complex and sensitive environment. The role oversees unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations, counter‑drone (C‑UAS) systems, and maintains continuous airspace situational awareness to protect personnel, assets, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full control and security of the project’s airspace, including all drone and counter‑drone operations.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise aerial security missions such as surveillance, reconnaissance and area assessments.
• Maintain continuous airspace situational awareness over critical operational zones and report unauthorized activity.
• Deploy, operate and maintain counter‑drone technologies (radar, RF detection, EO/IR sensors, jamming solutions).
• Coordinate with civil and military aviation authorities, manage flight authorisations, no‑fly zones and secure aerial corridors.
• Guarantee compliance with HSE requirements, air safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Draft and maintain operational procedures, risk assessments and security documentation.
• Supervise and train drone and counter‑drone teams, ensuring qualification and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in air operations management, UAS or counter‑drone operations within security, military, police, aviation or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of drone and counter‑drone technologies and airspace regulations.
• Ability to liaise with aviation authorities and manage compliance documentation.
• Leadership experience supervising technical teams and delivering training.
