Deputy Team Lead – USAID Project in Mozambique

About the role

Palladium is seeking a Deputy Team Lead to support the USAID/BHA Market‑Based Approaches for Sustainable Livelihoods activity in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. The role provides technical oversight, manages work plans, and coordinates monitoring, evaluation and learning for a three‑year project aimed at transitioning IDPs and returnees to sustainable livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Team Lead in planning, implementing, and delivering project results in line with the work plan.
• Manage operational, financial, and administrative priorities, including budgeting and annual cycle planning.
• Supervise staff across Agriculture, Economic Recovery, and Market Systems technical areas.
• Develop and oversee at least six private‑sector partnerships focused on economic recovery and market systems.
• Maintain compliance with USAID/BHA regulations, U.S. government rules, and Palladium policies.
• Coordinate with BHA, project partners, stakeholders, and security entities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing international development projects, preferably in agriculture or market systems.
• Strong understanding of USAID compliance and reporting requirements.
• Ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and manage relationships with private‑sector partners.
• Willingness to travel as needed and work full‑time on‑site in Pemba.
