Emergency Response Coordinator (m/f)

About the role

The Emergency Response Coordinator will lead the company's emergency preparedness and response activities across its oil and gas operations in Mozambique. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures compliance with local legislation, company policies, and international best practices while fostering a strong safety culture among all personnel and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary coordinator during emergency incidents, drills, and exercises.
• Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response (ER) systems, procedures, and documentation in line with TEPMA1 policy.
• Review contractor documentation for compliance with ER standards and provide feedback.
• Monitor the effectiveness of ER plans, identify improvement opportunities, and conduct post‑incident reviews.
• Maintain training materials, induction programs, competency records, and duty rosters for ER personnel.
• Facilitate audits, inspections, and investigations related to emergency response.
• Support business continuity and incident management planning.
• Ensure operational readiness of all emergency response equipment and firefighting resources.
• Provide on‑site assurance for contractor ER activities and aviation safety at helipads and airstrips.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., safety, engineering, environmental science).
• Training in Incident Command System (ICS 200) or Government of Canada (GOC 3) protocols.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and Mozambique emergency response legislation.
• Proven leadership ability and experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams.
