Environmental Lead (M/F) – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Environmental Lead will report to the Environmental Manager and HSSE Director, supporting the project team in delivering environmental compliance for a multinational oil & gas operation. This role ensures that all regulatory requirements, permits, and environmental management plans are developed, approved, and implemented effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with consultants and project teams to prepare EIA, ESHIA, and environmental management plans (EMPs).
• Develop, endorse, and implement the project's regulatory compliance and environmental management plans.
• Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals, and track their status throughout the project lifecycle.
• Integrate company environmental standards into project design and execution, working closely with EPC and EPCI contractors.
• Review and approve contractors' environmental and regulatory (E&R) plans, ensuring they meet host‑country requirements and loan agreement conditions.
• Provide cost and schedule estimates related to regulatory approvals and environmental plan implementation.
• Monitor EMP implementation and environmental performance, coordinating with site construction managers.
• Support special studies, reports, and tasks related to overall environmental and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience in environmental compliance within the oil & gas sector.
• Proven ability to manage EIA/ESHIA processes and obtain regulatory approvals.
• Strong knowledge of host‑country environmental regulations and international standards.
• Experience working with EPC/EPCI contractors on environmental plans.
