Field Service Engineer 3

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer 3 you will be the frontline technical expert ensuring the operational excellence of Lam’s complex semiconductor equipment at customer sites worldwide. You will combine on‑site installation, maintenance and troubleshooting to minimise downtime and deliver high‑quality service to valued customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site repair, maintenance, installation and start‑up of Lam’s electro‑mechanical and electronic systems.
• Diagnose and isolate equipment issues to the component level, applying corrective actions to reduce interruptions.
• Support complex field modifications, maintain accurate records and coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert, providing technical instruction and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Develop and communicate customer response action plans, fostering trust and satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
• Proven experience installing, maintaining, repairing or troubleshooting semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to work in clean‑room environments while wearing appropriate protective gear.
• Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and work flexible shifts including overtime and on‑call.

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.
• Diagnostic analysis and component‑level troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of clean‑room safety procedures.
