Head of Logistics Department – Mozambique

About the role

Action Contre la Faim, an international non-governmental organization founded in 1979, is recruiting a Head of Logistics for its country programme in Mozambique. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, the role strengthens and harmonizes logistics operations across the country, ensuring full compliance with ACF standards and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to defining the country office's logistics framework.
• Coordinate logistics at national level.
• Supervise the country supply chain: purchasing, procurement, storage and deliveries.
• Supervise general services: vehicles, motorcycles, generators, energy and ICT.
• Monitor the implementation of the country office safety policy and help put it in place.
• Promote collaboration and logistical coordination with country office partners.
• Supervise and support the logistics team, and act as functional manager of the Logistics Senior Officer on bases.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, including substantial managerial experience in an international NGO or humanitarian organization.
• Proven track record of leading and standardizing logistics functions, strengthening internal controls and implementing policies and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to lead teams, build staff capacity, coach colleagues and manage performance; thrives in multicultural environments.
• Strong analytical, planning, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Portuguese is a strong asset.
