Head of Poultry – Breeder & Hatchery Management

About the role

The client, a Mozambique subsidiary of a leading South African agribusiness, is looking for a senior professional to lead all aspects of poultry production, including breeder farm, hatchery and associated silo operations in Tet Province.

Key responsibilities

• Full management of the hatchery facilities
• Full management of the breeder farm
• Oversight of the silo complex
• Procurement of eggs and management of egg flow from the breeder farm
• Implementation and monitoring of bio‑security protocols
• Ensuring an input‑output ratio of at least 80% per hatch
• Stock, quality and logistics management
• Reduction of mortalities during transit
• Repairs, maintenance and continuous improvement of facilities
• Staff supervision, training and performance management
• Liaising with government inspectors and handling site visits

Required profile

• Proven experience in poultry hatchery and breeder farm management
• Strong understanding of bio‑security and animal health standards
• Ability to manage large‑scale stock and logistics operations
• Leadership skills to supervise and develop a multidisciplinary team
