HSEC Coordinator - Petroleum Terminal

About the role

Puma is looking for an HSEC Coordinator for its Impala Terminal Group. The role drives the management of the terminal's safety, health, environment and quality systems (IMAS, IEMS, OPS Excellence), ensures contractor compliance, manages incidents and non-conformances, and leads the implementation of ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 at the terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Manage IMAS, IEMS and contractor compliance, close non-conformances and report event trends to regional level
• Ensure compliance with the Contractor Management Framework, conduct contractor audits and suspend operations when non-compliance is found
• Investigate incidents and non-conformances, advise on corrective and preventive actions and keep licenses and permits valid
• Own the Emergency Response Plan, run monthly drills and train the Fire Team
• Compile HSE reports, run HSE training and maintain ISO systems
• Lead internal audits, coordinate external auditors and act as ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 champion
• Manage the operations team, set performance agreements and coach staff

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or Safety Management, 5-7 years of HSE experience in the oil industry or a comparable field
• Postgraduate degree and an environmental or HSE qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, ISO auditor) are an advantage
• Good command of English, written and spoken, and fluency in Portuguese

Required skills

• ISO management systems (preferably 9001:2015, 14001:2015, 45001:2018)
• HSE systems such as Intelex and Sphera
• Permit-to-work knowledge and extensive permit-to-work experience
• Sound knowledge of Mozambican health and safety regulations
