Cathodic Protection Engineer

About the role

EP Management & Consultancy Services is hiring a full-time, on-site Cathodic Engineer in Komatipoort. The engineer designs, implements and maintains cathodic protection systems for pipelines, storage tanks and related infrastructure to prevent corrosion and protect asset integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments, corrosion surveys and monitoring, analyse data and prepare technical reports
• Recommend corrective actions and coordinate with project teams, contractors and clients on installation, testing and maintenance
• Troubleshoot system performance and ensure regulatory and industry compliance
• Support continuous improvement of corrosion control practices

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree or diploma (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or Corrosion Engineering) or equivalent experience in cathodic protection
• Professional certification in cathodic protection or corrosion engineering (e.g. NACE or equivalent) is an advantage
• Willingness to work on-site in Komatipoort, including field work and occasional extended hours

Required skills

• Knowledge of cathodic protection principles, corrosion engineering and asset integrity management
• Field measurements and surveys (potential measurements, current requirements, coating evaluation) and interpretation of corrosion monitoring data
• Design, implementation and maintenance of impressed current and sacrificial anode systems
• Familiarity with standards such as NACE and ISO, and engineering software for calculations, drafting and reporting
