Human Resources Coordinator – Pemba, Mozambique

About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the delivery of HR services across NRC’s Country Office and Area Offices in Mozambique, ensuring compliance with NRC policies and local labour legislation. Working under the HR Manager, the role provides operational HR support to managers and staff in multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment processes, from attraction to hiring, in line with NRC policies.
• Maintain accurate personnel records, contracts, and HR databases throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Support onboarding logistics, work permits, visas, and accommodation arrangements.
• Monitor probation periods, contract renewals, staff movements and separations.
• Facilitate staff induction, mandatory training, and learning-and-development activities.
• Prepare HR reports, workforce statistics and data analysis for decision-making.
• Assist with employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling and conflict resolution.
• Promote diversity, equity, inclusion and staff wellbeing initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Law or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Strong knowledge of Mozambican labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to handle confidential information.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and employee records management.
• Training facilitation and capacity-building experience.
