Industrial Coating, PFP & Cryogenic Protection Supervisor

About the role

Join a major LNG project in Mozambique as an Industrial Coating, Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Cryogenic Protection Supervisor. You will lead the surface preparation, coating application and fire- and cryogenic-protection works across a wide range of structures, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise surface preparation and coating of structures, pipe racks, tanks, equipment skids, buildings, foundations and buried elements.
• Verify conformance to approved Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), procedures and datasheets in line with ISO, NACE/AMPP and SSPC standards.
• Control environmental conditions, dry-film thickness (DFT), curing profiles, holiday testing and adhesion verification.
• Oversee intumescent and cementitious PFP application, confirming thickness, adhesion and detailing.
• Supervise cryogenic spill/splash protection systems for LNG zones rated to –162 °C and verify interface with insulation.
• Manage storage, batch control, pot life, labeling and traceability of all coating, PFP and CSP products.
• Execute inspections, raise and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and contribute to Mechanical Completion and Handover dossiers.
• Enforce HSE requirements for blasting, spraying, chemical handling, work at height and confined spaces.
• Provide daily/weekly activity reports and support final handover documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in industrial coating, PFP and CSP on major LNG or oil & gas projects.
• Relevant certification: NACE/AMPP Level 2 or 3, or FROSIO Level II or III (mandatory).
• Fluent English (written and verbal); Portuguese knowledge is a plus.

• Dry-film thickness measurement, holiday detection and adhesion testing.
• Intumescent and cementitious passive fire protection application.
• Cryogenic splash protection (CSP) systems rated to –162 °C.
• Batch traceability, pot-life control, compliant storage, labeling and shelf-life management.
• Review of Inspection Test Plans, Work Method Statements and quality-control records.
• Health, safety and environmental compliance for blasting, spraying, chemical handling, work at height and confined spaces.
