Lead Contract Engineer - LNG Project

About the role

A major LNG development project in Mozambique is looking for a Lead Contract Engineer to support high-value EPC contract administration in a complex onshore construction environment. The role gives broad exposure to contract management, change orders, claims, payment applications and contractor interface, and plays a key part in supporting project restart activities and protecting contractual performance across critical work packages. The position is on a 12-month renewable contract, based in Afungi.

Required profile

• Master's qualification in Construction Law or Business
• Significant experience managing EPC or EPCC construction contracts within oil and gas projects
• Background in contract administration from pre-award through to final account
• Construction and installation contract management experience, ideally across offshore or subsea packages
• At least 10 years in a similar contract management position
• Experience supervising contract engineers and quantity surveyors on a site-based project
• English language proficiency; engineering or construction science qualification and offshore/subsea package experience preferred

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction law
• Contract administration, negotiation and monitoring of EPC or EPCC oil and gas projects
• Preparing, reviewing and validating change orders and amendments
• Managing contractor claims and preparing counterclaims with project teams
• Coordinating contractual correspondence, logs, guarantees, insurances and payment applications
• Leading direct reports and shared resources, with strong problem-solving and coordination skills
