Project Scheduler

About the role

Heading Moçambique is recruiting a Project Scheduler to be based in Songo, Mozambique. The role covers the development, monitoring and reporting of project schedules, working closely with site teams and supporting project management and contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update integrated project schedules in line with contractual requirements and project execution needs
• Establish and manage baseline schedules, monitor actual progress and forecast completion dates
• Track the critical path, milestones, float consumption, trends and deviations from baseline
• Work with site teams to monitor execution progress, interfaces, constraints and sequence changes
• Consolidate inputs from engineering, procurement, suppliers, subcontractors and site execution into one consistent schedule
• Identify delays, disruptions and interface issues early and report them to project management
• Perform delay analyses, what-if simulations and mitigation/recovery planning
• Prepare schedule reports, progress updates, presentations and planning documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Provide schedule-based input for extension-of-time assessments, delay substantiation and claim support with Contract Management
• Keep schedule records traceable and robust for future delay or disruption analysis

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls or a comparable discipline
• Experience in project scheduling for industrial, EPC, infrastructure or construction projects
• Experience in site-based roles or with construction/installation teams is highly desirable
• Clear written and spoken English

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
• Understanding of schedule logic, critical path, float, sequence logic and forecasting
• Ability to identify, document and assess delay events and their impact
• Experience with delay analysis, disruption assessment, extension-of-time evaluations or claim support is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC or JCT contracts is beneficial
