Programme Policy Officer – Gender & Inclusion

About the role

The Programme Policy Officer (Gender and Inclusion) will be based in the WFP Country Office in Maputo, supporting the Gender, Protection and Inclusion unit. The incumbent will provide technical leadership on gender equality across the country portfolio and play a pivotal role in the Mastercard Foundation project – Kufungula Muae, running until December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate gender and inclusion analyses, activities and results from project design through implementation.
• Lead engagement with Monitoring & Evaluation teams to ensure gender‑responsive indicators and reporting.
• Provide technical guidance on gender equality for all programme teams and partners.
• Support inclusion and PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) initiatives with WFP staff, cooperating partners, private‑sector actors and government.
• Coordinate closely with the Mastercard Foundation project to embed gender and inclusion considerations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in gender equality, inclusion and PSEA within humanitarian or development programmes.
• Strong understanding of UN and WFP gender policies and frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme teams, partners and government stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
