Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager leads all procurement activities for Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort, ensuring that goods and services are sourced cost‑effectively, on time, and to the required quality standards. This role supports the smooth operation of the resort by managing supplier relationships, controlling costs, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and oversee procurement of all goods, services and equipment needed for resort operations.
• Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and service.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms to achieve best value for the resort.
• Monitor market trends and pricing to identify cost‑saving opportunities and ensure purchases stay within approved budgets.
• Collaborate with Stores and department heads to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and applicable regulations.
• Supervise, coach and evaluate the Purchasing and Stores team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Professional procurement qualification (e.g., CPM, CIPS) is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing procurement processes, preferably within the hospitality or resort sector.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
