Receptionist / Night Auditor

About the role

City Lodge Hotels is hiring a Reception / Night Audit staff member for its Maputo hotel. The role covers all front office duties, including welcoming and registering guests, answering calls, processing reservations and handling departures, plus any extra tasks assigned by management. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and register guests on arrival, answer telephone calls and respond to guest queries and requests.
• Manage guest departures, process reservations and promote room sales.
• Perform front office administrative tasks and handle money, with authority to disburse and deposit company funds; a fraud and credit check applies.
• Execute administrative and accounting tasks to the required standard, maintaining internal controls and safeguarding revenue.
• Store documentation and correspondence according to company policy and comply with all compliance requirements.
• Maintain brand and group standards across the hotel group and share ideas that could improve products, service and efficiency.
• Build professional relationships with guests, travel agents, corporate clients and tour operators.
• Take part in legislative and operational training and develop personal growth plans.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Computer literacy is essential, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Front office or reception experience is advantageous.
• Long hours and shifts, as required by the hospitality industry, and work involving prolonged sitting, standing and repetitive movements.

• Familiarity with phone systems and Property Management Systems (PMS)
