Resettlement Livelihoods Supervisor

About the role

The Resettlement Livelihoods Supervisor will lead the livelihoods team and oversee the implementation of agricultural, fisheries and diversified livelihood programmes for households affected by large‑scale resettlement in Afungi, Mozambique.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the resettlement livelihoods team and coordinate implementation partners delivering agricultural, fisheries and diversified livelihood activities.
• Recruit, onboard, coach and mentor the livelihoods team; prepare and update Statements of Work for contracting partners.
• Manage implementation of livelihood re‑establishment programmes, assess household progress and adjust rankings.
• Develop implementation schedules and budgets, monitor delivery and ensure compliance with audits and performance reviews.
• Act as focal point between implementation partners, the project, government, affected households and the wider community.

Required profile

• Degree in Rural Development, Economics, Sociology or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years experience implementing livelihood re‑establishment programmes for large‑scale resettlements.
• Proven experience managing contracts and large budgets, including technical and financial monitoring.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Adaptive leadership with ability to coach and influence at all levels.
• Community facilitation, conflict resolution and risk assessment abilities.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Mozambican nationality; residence in the local area is an advantage.
