Security Air Space Deputy Manager

About the role

The Security Air Space Deputy Manager will lead the comprehensive management of airspace security for a large-scale project, overseeing both unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations and counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) capabilities. Reporting to senior security leadership, the role ensures safe, compliant, and effective aerial surveillance and protection across on‑shore and off‑shore assets.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of project airspace security, including planning, execution and supervision of drone‑based surveillance, reconnaissance and area‑assessment missions.
• Coordinate flight operations with civil aviation authorities, local aviation regulators and all UAS/C‑UAS service providers.
• Maintain continuous Airspace Situational Awareness (ASA) and produce daily analysis, reports and alerts on aerial activity.
• Ensure compliance with Security SOPs, VPSHR and relevant aviation regulations.
• Supervise and certify drone and counter‑drone teams, enforcing operational standards and discipline.
• Oversee installation, testing and optimisation of multimillion‑dollar UAS/C‑UAS systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in air operations management, UAS or C‑UAS programmes in military, police, aviation or industrial security contexts.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO guidance and local aviation authority regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct airspace security risk assessments and to work with military or security forces.
• Fluent English; Portuguese or Swahili considered an asset.
