Site Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Site Electrical Engineer will support LV, MV and HV electrical engineering and construction activities for a major on‑shore LNG project in Mozambique, ensuring technical integrity, compliance with specifications and safe execution through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all electrical matters on site.
• Interpret and implement engineering deliverables such as SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, layouts, grounding drawings, protection philosophies and hazardous area classifications.
• Respond to Technical Queries, Deviation Requests, Concession Requests and NCRs.
• Verify design compliance with project specifications, IEC/IEEE standards and regulations.
• Support construction activities including cable installation, terminations, panels, transformers, motors, MCCs, UPS/IPS, lighting, earthing networks and substations.
• Review ITPs, method statements, checklists and test procedures.
• Participate in inspections, joint walk‑downs and electrical testing.
• Assist pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including functional tests, test‑pack verification, punch closure and energisation readiness reviews.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning teams, contractors and vendors.
• Promote electrical safety procedures such as LOTO, PTW and HV/LV isolation.

Required profile

• Electrical Engineering degree, preferably with HV/LV specialization.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering on major Oil & Gas projects, ideally LNG.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV/HV power generation and distribution systems.
• Fluent English; Portuguese and/or French beneficial.

• Electrical testing, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and energisation readiness.
• Handling of Technical Queries (TQ), Deviation Requests (DER), Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), method statements and test procedures.
