Site Piping & Valve Engineer

About the role

The Site Piping & Valve Engineer will ensure the technical integrity of all piping and valve systems on the Mozambique LNG Afungi site, from construction through pre‑commissioning and mechanical completion. The role works closely with EPC contractors, QA/QC teams and commissioning stakeholders to deliver a safe, compliant, and high‑quality plant.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical support for piping and valve matters, interpreting isometrics, valve datasheets, material specifications, layouts and 3D model extracts.
• Process Contractor Technical Queries (TQ), Deviation Requests (DER) and Concession Requests, coordinating with home‑office engineering to resolve design gaps.
• Assist construction teams with installation, welding, testing, flushing and reinstatement, reviewing ITPs, WPS/PQRs, erection plans and test packs.
• Support pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including hydro‑test, pneumatic test, cleaning, drying and leak testing, and verify test pack completeness.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, QA/QC and commissioning disciplines, participating in interdisciplinary meetings and joint inspections.
• Promote HSE and quality standards throughout all piping and valve activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in piping and valve engineering on large‑scale EPC projects, preferably in oil & gas or LNG environments.
• Strong knowledge of engineering deliverables such as isometrics, valve datasheets, material specs and 3D model extracts.
• Ability to interpret and apply welding procedures, inspection plans and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with pre‑commissioning and commissioning processes for piping and valve systems.
