Technical Director, Marine Works

About the role

The Technical Director – Marine is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and governing all technical aspects of marine and near‑shore projects. You will ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of complex works such as ports, jetties, offshore structures and coastal protection.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the marine technical strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, constructability and execution methods.
• Lead innovation, optimisation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support tendering teams with technical solutions, methodologies and risk assessments.
• Set up document‑management processes, review procedures and hand‑over tools.
• Forecast resources, lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor technical leaders.
• Ensure compliance with design requirements, standards, specifications, cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Oversee coordination between design, procurement and site execution.
• Provide technical oversight for near‑shore operations, fleet utilisation and offshore installations.
• Enforce HSE policies, marine regulations (IMCA, SOLAS, MARPOL) and lead risk mitigation.
• Manage technical budgets for designs, studies and material procurement.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in marine engineering and large‑scale marine projects.
• Proven leadership ability to develop and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of marine regulations, HSE standards and risk management.
• Demonstrated capability in budgeting and performance management.
