Access to Finance Manager – Innovative Finance Partnerships

About the role

The Innovative Finance Partnerships Manager will lead the Green Value for Growth (GV4G) Access to Finance (A2F) activities, focusing on developing partnerships that increase financing for SMEs, cooperatives, farmers and value‑chain enterprises in Mozambique. The role supports the design and deployment of innovative finance instruments, blended finance structures and guarantee‑backed lending mechanisms aligned with the needs of agri‑SMEs and the mandates of investor partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of GV4G’s investment facilitation and innovative finance strategy.
• Conduct financial ecosystem analysis and identify barriers to agricultural finance.
• Build partnerships with banks, DFIs, impact investors, guarantee facilities and blended‑finance providers to unlock investment for targeted agri‑SMEs and farmers.
• Identify and support investment‑ready enterprises across soy, cashew and coffee value chains in close collaboration with GV4G enterprise‑development teams.
• Coordinate transaction structuring, pipeline development and investment‑matchmaking activities.
• Support the design and testing of innovative finance instruments and blended‑finance structures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in developing partnerships with financial institutions, development finance institutions and impact investors.
• Strong understanding of agricultural finance ecosystems and barriers.
• Experience in investment facilitation, transaction structuring and pipeline management for agri‑SMEs.
• Ability to work closely with enterprise‑development teams and coordinate multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
