District Technical Officer – Global Health Security

About the role

The District Technical Officer will provide technical support to district health authorities, facilities and community structures for the implementation of Global Health Security activities under the EpiC‑GHS project in Mozambique.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness, response, infection prevention and control, and health emergency management at district level.
• Support SDSMAS and district health teams to improve data quality, timeliness and use for surveillance and reporting.
• Conduct routine data review, analysis and trend identification to inform corrective actions.
• Provide mentorship, coaching and supportive supervision to health facility and district teams.
• Participate in government meetings and prepare technical inputs for reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Basic working knowledge of disease surveillance, outbreak response and IPC.
• Familiarity with Mozambique’s health system and experience working with government health structures preferred.
• Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and present health and program data.
• Strong communication skills in Portuguese and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Portuguese.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
