Senior Nutrition Technical Officer – Nampula, Mozambique

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Nutrition Technical Officer to lead nutrition activities for the EpiC MNCH+N project in Nampula, Mozambique. The role provides technical leadership to ensure high‑quality nutrition services are integrated with maternal, newborn, child health and immunization platforms across health facilities and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to implement nutrition interventions in line with national guidelines and global best practices.
• Support government and partners in delivering training, guidance, and supportive supervision for high‑impact priority nutrition (PIN) practices.
• Oversee quality assurance of nutrition services delivered by primary health centers and community providers.
• Analyze program performance data to identify gaps, quality issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and adapt evidence‑based technical solutions to increase coverage, quality, and effectiveness of nutrition services.
• Maintain and update protocols, tools, manuals, training materials, and reporting documents related to nutrition activities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in nutrition program implementation, preferably in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and work collaboratively with government and NGOs.
• Strong analytical skills for routine data review and evidence‑based decision making.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Portuguese is an asset.
